Hanna Hanna Burchell

Hanna, started out as a musician when she was 13, winning a regional talent contest and from then on, music has played a main role for the Gloucestershire born girl. Moving to Brighton, she has played in at least 12 bands on longterm projects with ecclectic influences one of which was called Pan, a dub, funk house groove band, that toured most of England and Europe. She has a natural flair for blending in as well as leading and at present she plays with The Fold, an original Folk Rock group, Hanna and Magdalena (formerly Shamana) An original Folk, jazz duo/band and performs solo. She has made a solo album, 'Reach Out' and two albums with Shamana, before recording her fantastic new Hanna & Magdalena album Invisible Threads. Jeff Hemmings, reknowned music journalist on Juice FM described it as 'deeply soulful and very melodic' and Latest 7 said it was 'an album packed with songs women everywhere will identify with and men will love'.
Later this year she is recording another solo unplugged album of her new material.

Hanna is also a hugely in demand singer. Featured on 20 albums – as a session artist, including the hotter than hot kings of hip hop: Greenkeepers, rock legend Arthur ‘Fire' Brown, and the new Serge Gainsbourg: Mister Bogus who says of her 'For sessions her speed and versatility are the key to her success'. You have an idea; soul, rock, operatic, and she'll deliver it with 100% feeling'. Hanna sings harmonies effortlessly and plays guitar, flute and mandolin fluently.

Hanna has always been a spiritual person, her songs are filled with the concerns of modern women, the environment, relationships, the next generation. She is now passing on her knowledge and skill by teaching composition and performance to children and being a vocal coach . She herself is still keen to keep on learning – taking classes in music and spirituality from people she admires and likes to keep her passion alive by collaborating with inspired musicians.
